description

A refreshing, light gel cream textured moisturiser that goes beyond the basics, as it not only hydrates, but also protects and soothes the skin. A medium-amount of 5% Glycerin is enhanced by hydrators working in synergy with glycerin: a new-generation molecule called Isosorbide Dicaprylate and a sugar trio, trade named Aquaxyl, help the transportation of glycerin throughout the epidermis (by upregulating Aquaporin-3) and strengthen the skin barrier by stimulating the skin’s own ceramide production.

The 1% Ectoin in the formula hydrates & soothes the skin, while it also protects from all kinds of environmental stress, such as pollution, oxidative stress, blue & visible light. A good dose of two classic calming ingredients, Allantoin and Bisabolol further enhance the soothing ability of Hydration Station.

What makes the formula of Hydration Station unique is also what is not in it. It avoids three super common ingredient groups that are found in almost all moisturisers: fatty alcohols, fatty acids and silicones. While there is absolutely nothing wrong with these ingredients (and we do use some of them in our other moisturiser, Happier Barrier), we know there are a few skin types bothered by these, and we know how hard it is to find a good product without them. If you find that most “normal” moisturisers break you out, or you have a skin issue related to Malassezia fungi (malassezia folliculitis, aka fungal acne or seborrheic dermatitis), Hydration Station could be your formula.

Who is it for?

Pretty much anyone who is looking for a lightweight, soothing gel-cream for their normal, combination or oily skin. We especially recommend it if regular moisturisers tend to break you out, or you have a skin issue related to Malassezia fungi (malassezia folliculitis, aka fungal acne or seborrheic dermatitis).

Ingredients & Research

key ingredients:

Glycerin - A natural, water-binding moisturizer that’s also in our skin. It is the gold standard, most proven humectant that goes beyond simple hydration. It keeps the skin lipids between our skin cells in a healthy (liquid crystal) state, protects against irritation, and helps to restore the barrier. 5% of Glycerin counts as a medium amount, ideal for combination-oily skin.

Ectoin - An amazing, all-around skin protectant. This well-researched, multi-functional active has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, pollution & light protecting, skin hydrating, barrier repairing as well as anti-aging properties.

Isosorbide Dicaprylate - A modern skin hydrator and barrier builder molecule that works particularly well with Glycerin. It is known to upregulate Aquaporin-3, the important water & glycerin channels in the epidermis.

Xylitylglucoside + Anhydroxylitol + Xylitol – A sugar based humectant trio that works in synergy with glycerin to increase the skin’s water-binding capacity and strengthen the skin barrier.

Bisabolol + Allantoin - Two classic skincare ingredients known for their skin soothing abilities.

New favourite moisturiser and FA safe. Thank you!

Please please never stop making this, it is perfect and completely suitable for my 'fungal acne'/Malassezia prone skin.

The texture is creamy yet lightweight, and it absorbs beautifully without pilling like some other moisturisers I have tried. I have had a complete reduction of texture, itch, irritation and bumps on my face, something that has yet to happen in the years of trialling products.

I also greatly appreciate a brand acknowledging this as a Malassezia-safe product - something that very few brands on the market have yet to do and create suitable products for.

Thank you x1000000 and I will continue to purchase this and from your incredible brand.

THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS PRODUCT! I have absurdly sensitive skin and before finding this moisturizer there was only one moisturizer in my life I had found that my skin could tolerate: Tolérance Extrême Emulsion by Avene, which only had 6 ingredients. It was recently discontinued, and I was plunged back into a depressing cycle of wasting money trying moisturizers that claimed to be for sensitive skin and winding up with red, stinging skin and puffy eyes to show for it. I was discouraged to the point of almost forsaking moisturizers entirely but my skin was feeling very dry and makeup looked cakey. I decided to give this a try since I've been a fan of the Cheer Up product for a while and I'm SO glad I did because my skin has ZERO reaction. My eyes look normal in the morning, my skin tone is even and calm, and my skin feels hydrated. It does the job it's supposed to do... without a bunch of unnecessary bells and whistles that set my skin on fire. Please NEVER discontinue this formula, I am stocking up my apocalypse supply now because I never want to run out of this.

Holy Grail!

Please don’t stop making this. I have seborrheic dermatitis and it is extremely hard for me to find products that work for my skin. I happened upon this and OMG!! This is heavenly. I have dry skin and the consistency of this product is so creamy and smooth, my skin loves it. I’m going to buy a back up just to have on hand because I don’t want to run out and be without it!! My skin has never felt this moisturized and I would highly recommend this product to anyone with sensitive skin.

Love it !

Great moisturizer for oily or combination skin. Great as the last step of a layering routine as well. I use it morning and evening, it’s lighweight, non sticky, really hydrate and keeps my skin comfortable. It doesn’t aggravate my redness or sensitivity. And it is such a good price that I use it as a hand cream as well !

Really good, but sadly not perfect

My skin type: Combination, reactive skin with active acne and dehydration.
I'm currently using differin for the acne which also makes my skin very sensitive.

This is a very comfortable gel-creme moisturizer. It goes on the skin very smoothly and layers well with other products and makeup.
Gives a nice boost of hydration to the skin without feeling the slightest heavy or greasy. I really love it for the oiler more acne-prone areas of my face.

It does however sting and burn if I use it on the more sensitive areas of my face (around my nostrils, lips and eyes), or if my skin barrier is severely damaged. I sadly wouldn't recommend it if you have very sensitive and reactive skin all over, but if you're more combo like me, you can get away with only using it in the areas that can tolerate it.

I think this product will be really good during the summer months when my skin is a bit more resilient in general, and it gives a good amount of hydration but I don't really find it moisturizing enough for the coldest dryest winter months.

But overall very impressed with how nice and hydrating the formula feels without pilling up or feeling greasy.
I also have not experienced any new clogged pores or worsening of my acne from using this with is rare and something I'm really happy to have found within a moisturizer.

I find the packaging simple yet cute.
Was a bit skeptical about the twist on and off lid at first (as i tend to prefer the ones you flip open for moisturizers) but as I've been putting this in my bag for when I'm going to the gym and such, I really appreciate that this type of lid makes it fully leak-proof in your bag and very active-lifestyle-friendly!

I've been really impressed with all G&G products I've tried so far, definitely becoming a big fan of this brand!
