description

Azelaic Acid is a 3-in-1 clinically proven active that helps reduce blemishes, pigmentation and redness. This formula uses a new-generation water-soluble form called Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate (PAD) that has similar properties to Azelaic Acid, but enables a super-light, oil-free texture. The two strong points of PAD are to even the skin tone and to control excessive oiliness.

Glycerin

In our formula we are using 20% Azeclair, a solution containing 6% pure Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate (PAD). While 6% might not sound like a high number, when it comes to PAD, it is an outstanding amount. The molecule is effective already and typically used at 1-3%. Studies done by the ingredient’s manufacturer show that 3% PAD (or 10% Azeclair) is an effective amount in normalizing oil production and evening the skin tone, while a study published in the Journal of Dermatological Treatment used 5% PAD for the management of rosacea.

Geek tip: Based on our experience, those who are sensitive to niacinamide tend to find aPAD an especially helpful addition to their skincare routine.

who is it for?

aPAD is ideal if you are looking for an Azelaic Acid product that is also light in texture and layers well with other products. It is an all-skin type formula that we especially recommend, if you have pigmentation, extra oiliness or redness (rosacea).

ingredients & research

key ingredients:

Potassium Azeloyl Diglycinate - A new generation Azelaic Acid derivative designed to be water-soluble and thus enable light formulas. It has a similar effect to the 3-in-1 clinical active Azelaic Acid that helps to normalize oil production, evening the skin tone, reducing blemishes, pigmentation and redness. There are a few studies using PAD already: two used it for the management of rosacea here and here, and another one used it for the management of melasma.

Allantoin - A classic skincare ingredient known for its skin soothing & skin protecting abilities.

Glycerin & Methyl-Gluceth 20 - A gentle humectant combination to help the skin to hold onto water.

Fantastic

Absolutely wonderful serum for hyper sensitive skin dealing with rosacea. Have never come across anything as effective as this for calming inflammation. Will continue to repurchase.

Seriously rescued my skin!

My skin is quite sensitive & also blemish-prone - unfortunately, my skin really hates Niacinamide, and while I love Azelaic acid, the products I've tried so far with AA are too heavy for my oily skin. So then I tried aPAD & I have never looked back. It cleared up my skin quickly, while calming it down, and ever since I have been using it, my skin is looking healthier overall & much clearer than before. When I don't use it, I can really feel the difference, so I'm addicted for life. (I noticed that some people say it didn't do enough for them, but I also think that their skin didn't really need it in the first place - those who really need it, will see a huge difference IMO, well...I know I did.)

Sensitive skin friendly!

Whenever I try out new skincare I’m always so nervous about how my picky skin is going to react, but it always loves G&G products! I would definitely recommend introducing this slowly into your routine because of how strong it is, but I had no issues with it at all. The price is also amazing for the quality you’re getting.

Effective Skincare That Truly Works

I absolutely love the aPAD serum! My skin has become smoother, calmer, and noticeably brighter since I started using it. It helps with redness and breakouts without irritating my skin at all, and the texture is so lightweight and pleasant to use every day.
Honestly, every product I’ve tried from Geek & Gorgeous has impressed me - the formulas really work and deliver visible results. High-quality skincare without unnecessary hype. I keep coming back for more and highly recommend the brand to anyone who wants effective, science-based skincare!

Finally a product that works for my perioral dermatitis

I’ve been suffering from perioral dermatitis for several years, and my skin reacts to everything! I’ve tried many different products over the years, and nothing has worked. I started using aPAD after the active flare-up had subsided. After two weeks, the red areas have completely disappeared, and my skin feels balanced.
